Placer Learning Center Middle School Classroom
The goal in the Middle School at PLC is to have fun learning while working hard to change challenging behaviors. Our first priority as a staff in the Middle School is to provide a safe and enriched learning environment for our students. It is our goal to help each and every one of our them to focus on their individual behaviors both as a student and as a peer; ultimately providing them with the tools necessary to be successful in life.

We work diligently with our students to improve their behaviors first by helping them recognize the areas they need to work on, followed by setting goals and creating a plan for positive change. Finally as a staff we provide students with positive and socially appropriate replacement behaviors.

Throughout this process we are able to provide support for our students in various ways which include but are not limited to, a strict and detailed daily schedule, incentive based point and level systems, high staff to student ratio, and meeting students basic needs.
In our classroom we challenge our students academically focusing on the ability to work both individually and in groups to finish their assignments. We provide a daily academic schedule that encompasses all subject areas, English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Math, Physical Education and Social Skills.

As we see changes in our student's behavior, we progress to another goal for them to work toward with the hope of one day helping them return to district school programs where they can continue to excel .
